Aujourd'hui, Mister Zion expose son travail dans les villes, dans des festivals, des Salons d'arts contemporains dont Art3F et dans divers lieux d'expositions.
Mister Zion (Sylvain Gurtler) was born in Nantes in 1973. Coming from a background in graphic arts and communications, he worked for a long time as a freelance graphic designer before becoming a full-time artist.
Mister Zion 's work is graphic, playful, and instinctive. His studio is a real laboratory . The artist likes to explore and use mixed techniques related to urban art (spray cans, inks, poscas, dripstick, etc.) on all types of media (paper, canvas, objects, walls, etc.).
Abstract (asemic) calligraphy is the very hallmark of Mister Zion 's artistic work. It can compose portraits (saddhus series), be staged in the CaliFlores or come to life as a calligraphic object .
Asemic calligraphy , like a dance of ink on the canvas of paper, offers an artistic experience radically devoid of pre-established linguistic meaning. Defying the conventional norms of writing, it frees itself from the constraints of meaning, allowing the lines to dance unhindered.
Each gesture of the brush or spray can becomes a raw expression of intuition , a visual exploration where forms emerge spontaneously , creating an aesthetic language in its own right.
Asemic calligraphy transcends the boundaries of language to engage in a direct emotional conversation with the viewer, eliciting subjective responses and inviting unfettered contemplation, where beauty lies in the complete freedom of interpretation.
In the summer of 2021, he experienced the pleasure of collage in the streets and began to paste his "Bees" . Since then, they have never left him and accompany him on his travels and take their place in his art alongside calligraphy.
